Most of the law colleges have adapted the use of assignments as a way to impart knowledge. A research paper is one of the most common assignments in colleges. But why is this kind of writing so popular and can it actually help you with learning the chosen discipline? We shall be conducting an analysis of the essentials of a good research paper and what is the outcome of doing this tiresome research.
Here are some of the reasons why writing a research paper for any educational degree is really important these days:

However, there is no one right style or manner for writing an education paper. Content aside, the writing style and presentation of papers in different educational fields vary greatly. Nevertheless, certain parts are common to most papers, for example:
- TITLE/COVER PAGE– Contains the paper’s title, the author’s name, address, phone number, e-mail, and the day’s date.
- ABSTRACT– Not every paper in education includes an abstract. For longer, more complicated articles, however, abstracts are especially helpful. The abstract usually offers a broad description, often just 100 to 300 words, and is never more than a page. It determines the meaning of the article, the primary theme. It involves the research question presented, its importance, the strategy, and the key outcomes or findings. In an abstract, footnotes or works cited are never mentioned. Remember to be extremely vigilant in writing the abstract.
- INTRODUCTION AND STATEMENT OF PROBLEM– The key research issue and the thesis statement are stated in a good introduction. What exactly are you researching, and why does it matter? How original is this one? In other research, is it going to fill a gap? Never provide your subject with a lengthy argument until it has been clearly mentioned.
- LIMITATIONS OF STUDY-
Indicate what you plan to do, and what you are not going to try, as soon as possible. Any number of factors, such as time, staff, gender, age, geographical location, nationality, and so on, can restrict the scope of your article. - METHODOLOGY
Discuss the methods of study. Did you use techniques of qualitative or quantitative research? Have you administered a questionnaire or questioned people? Any field study carried out? How have you been collecting data? Have you used other collections or libraries? And so forth. - LITERATURE REVIEW
The process of research uncovers what other authors have written about your subject. A summary or analysis of what is known about the topic and how the information was gained should be included in your education paper. Once you have the general and detailed context of current knowledge, then you can draw on the analysis of others. - MAIN BODY OF PAPER/ ARGUMENT
Generally, this is the longest section of the document. It’s where the author supports the thesis and the case is built. Much of the citations and analysis are in it. A logical development of the thesis with sound logic and strong argumentation at all points should be the objective of this section. The basic unity that characterises a good education paper offers a consistent emphasis, preventing meaningless digressions. - CONCLUSION
The conclusion ties it together and underlines what it all means, after investing a great deal of time and energy introducing and arguing the arguments in the main body of the paper. A relaxing and insightful conclusion leaves the reader well-satisfied and informed. When read separately from the rest of the article, a conclusion which makes sense will win praise. - WORKS CITED/ BIBLIOGRAPHY
it includes the references which were used for writing the research paper. - APPENDICES – Research papers on education also contain one or more appendices. An appendix includes content that is ideal for expanding the comprehension of the reader, but that does not fit so well into the paper’s main body. Tables, tables, summaries, questionnaires, interview questions, lengthy statistics, maps, illustrations, photos, lists of words, glossaries, survey instruments, letters, historical record copies, and several other forms of supplementary information may be included in such material.
